The Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Project is a major upgrade to one of South East Queensland’s busiest regional rail corridors. Designed to boost capacity, reliability and connections for rapidly growing Sunshine Coast communities, Stage 1 will deliver new rail infrastructure, safer crossings, upgraded park and ride facilities and a more efficient network for both passengers and freight.
As a Senior Surveyor on B2N, you will play a crucial role in making sure every element of the project is built exactly as designed. Working within the John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture, you’ll work with the B2N Survey Manager plan and coordinate survey activities, establish and maintain spatial control networks and support engineers, foremen and construction teams with accurate, timely data. You’ll lead set out for earthworks, rail, structural works and utilities, while managing digital models, machine control files and key quality records. Your work will directly influence construction accuracy, progress and compliance on one of Queensland’s most important rail infrastructure projects.
About the role:
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for:
- Plan, coordinate and deliver survey activities across assigned sections of the B2N project.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks, prepare digital models and manage data systems.
- Lead set out for earthworks, rail, structures and utilities, including rail trolleys and machine control.
- Prepare survey calculations, quantities and EOM inputs, supporting project reporting.
- Manage survey requests, “as constructed” records, calibration logs and QA documentation.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Degree in surveying, spatial science with eligibility for registration with SBQ or Surveyors Australia as CES.
- Strong experience in civil construction surveying across varied disciplines.
- Proficient with using a variety of survey software and hardware, data systems and model management.
- Ability to manage “as built” data, design changes, calibration records and conformance reporting.
- Confident communicator able to support, coordinate and mentor survey personnel and subcontractors.
