We are looking for an experienced Safety and Wellness Leader to drive safety initiatives, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage risk assessments across projects. You will mentor site personnel, lead incident responses, and collaborate with stakeholders to promote a safe and healthy work environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong communication skills, experience in safety management, and a commitment to continuous improvement in safety performance.
About the role:
- Champion safety initiatives: Promote safety policies, mentor project personnel, and lead safety initiatives to drive continuous improvement in safety performance across all project levels.
- Compliance and risk management: Develop and maintain safety competency frameworks, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and conduct risk assessments to manage high-risk activities.
- Incident management: Lead safety incident responses, conduct thorough investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Mentoring and site support: Lead, mentor, and support site personnel, ensuring alignment with safety and wellness goals, and foster a collaborative, positive work environment.
- Stakeholder engagement: Act as the primary contact for clients and external stakeholders, ensuring safety and wellness requirements are met and maintaining clear communication on safety performance.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum Diploma qualification in WHS or related field supported by Certificate IV in OHS or equivalent.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122).
- SIA Lead Auditor Certification.
- Mental Health First Aid Certification or equivalent.
- ICAM Lead Investigator Training.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
